Survival Text Adventure — Outlast the Wild in a Free AI Survival Game
This is you, alone, with a dwindling pack and a night coming on cold. In Perpetale's survival mode every choice has weight — ration the last protein bar or eat now, push for the ridge before dark or dig in where you stand. You don't pick from a menu: you type what you actually do, and the wilderness answers honestly. Get careless and the story remembers the wound, the storm, the water you didn't boil.
Play this world →The float plane is a smear of smoke a mile up the shoreline. You have a knife, half a lighter, and a jacket already soaked through. The lake is glass-flat and the far treeline is going gray with dusk — maybe two hours of light. Your left ankle answers the wrong way when you stand on it. Somewhere behind the ridge, thunder clears its throat. You decide what happens next.

FAQ
Is this AI survival text adventure free to play?
Yes. Perpetale's survival mode is free to play in your browser. You can start a run right now and see how far you last before anything asks for money.
Do I need to sign up or install anything to start?
No. You can play a turn straight from the landing page with no account and no download. It runs in the browser, and there's also a PWA and an iOS app if you want it on your phone.
Can I type my own survival actions instead of picking from a list?
Yes — that's the whole point. Instead of choosing from three canned options, you type what you actually do: 'ration the jerky and boil lake water,' 'splint my ankle with a tent pole,' 'signal the plane with the mirror.' The AI improvises the consequences.
Does the game track things like hunger, injuries, and weather over time?
The story remembers. If you skipped boiling that water, ignored the cut, or burned your last match, it carries forward and shapes what happens later — no reset between turns, so consequences compound the way real survival does.
How is this different from a scripted survival game or AI Dungeon?
Scripted survival games run on fixed events and fail states; generic AI story tools forget what you did two turns ago. Perpetale keeps persistent memory of your gear, wounds, and choices and reacts to free-typed actions, so no two escapes from the wild play out the same.
How it works
- Describe or pick an action — anything.
- The world responds and remembers what you did.
- The story never ends — it grows with you.
